Hotel Chez Moi シェモア Business hotel in front of Kami Suwa station. 5,300 yen for single bed one person. Smoking and non available but tonight the non was sold out. But room smell was fine.
Great experience overall. Super friendly woman checked me in. Everything was in Japanese so I don’t know if English is okay here, but otherwise typical business hotel. Aged, but clean, except for the stains which I can deal with because it’s not “new”. It was obviously cleaned with care, and for 5,300 yen at the station it’s probably the best deal around. She was very polite and explained everything in detail in a very kind, and experienced manner.
Breakfast is not included, but for 650 yen, it is a great deal especially for an authentic Japanese style meal. She was very kind to explain what to e meal is and made sure I was okay with it. You will need to tell them the night before so they know how much food to to prepare. It is served from 7-9. No need to reserve the time. They will give you a big plastic breakfast ticket - very ecological since they reuse them. And hard to lose … good reminder to me that I paid for breakfast, so I should wake up Nd enjoy it. Too often I miss breakfast when it’s free. I think this is a better way. We pay for it no matter what, so might as well only charge those who actually will eat breakfast and for 650 yen cannot go wrong!
Parking is included steps from the entrance.
If you go out you bring your key. No need to deposit it at the front and in fact they don’t want you to.
Door to room is an automatic lock so be sure to bring your key as you leave.
Front door is 24 hours and left unlocked so you may come and go as you please.
All these details were explained upon check-in which made for a very pleasant experience thereafter since I didn’t have to wonder or figure out the hotel “rules” which are wide and varied amongst hotels in japan.
Lastly - it’s cash only. Not sure if it will always be the case but it seemed like it was not the usual way, but she was quite apologetic that that’s the only method of payment now.
This place did not show up in any booking site and I only found it by driving around purposely looking for this kind of hotel near the station. The English name doesn’t even show up in google. The katakana name does and that’s here. Maybe Business Hotel Chez Moi will start showing up after this. Haha.
