Before I start this, you should know that Hotel Pacific View is a former love hotel, and located in ‘Love Hotel Valley.’ We did NOT know this because we never would have booked if we’d known.
This hotel is located on a super steep hill, so technically it’s “ocean view” but you’re nowhere near the water. There is assigned parking on site. Checkin is fully virtual, and a help button is available to video call a human for help, which we had to do two times. (They were very friendly, helpful & spoke English). You get a code to check in which gives you a code to the little lockboxes for keys.
We were assigned room 702 on floor 7. Upon entry, we immediately noticed two towels. One on the floor to catch a ceiling drip, one on the tv stand to catch another. There was a large amount of water damage and black mold in one corner of the room. There was peeling ceiling in another. There was a cigarette burn on one of the curtains. The floor was cracked and broken in several areas.
The “couch” is a vinyl covered patio furniture. The bed is just about as good as sleeping on the floor, with only two pillows that don’t work no matter how many times you fold them. When you go up the metal gym-mat covered spiral staircase, you’re led to the large jacuzzi and wet room. The windows are able to be opened which is good because the entire hotel room gets quite stuffy & sticky despite the air conditioner. The “patio” area is a painted cement open area with an old picnic table.
When you’re lying awake at night because the room is so warm and the bed so uncomfortable, you can look out at your nice view of other sketchy hotels and their entertaining night traffic.
The only good things I can say is it’s spacious, quiet and it was very clean. I diligently checked each piece of linen before use and they were clean as well. It had a few amenities such as a mini-fridge & microwave, water cups, I believe there was also a couple hygiene packs on the bathroom counter. It’s also about .5km from a Family Mart.
I never considering myself a hotel-snob but this was an absolute waste of $86.
Absolutely DO NOT recommend!
