"Tohmiya Inn" stands in a quiet fishing village in Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture. This traditional folk house is a luxurious hideaway that retains the atmosphere of the Taisho era. Here, you can escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and spend a peaceful time surrounded by the original landscape of Japan.
This inn is a renovated traditional folk house built in the later stages of the Edo period, which served as a fisherman's house until after the war. The red roof tiles, white-painted exterior walls, and wooden lattice doors still reflect its appearance from that time. In the middle of the garden stands a splendid old cherry blossom tree, providing a beautiful view for cherry blossom viewing in spring.
The interior of the inn is a pure Japanese-style space with the scent of tatami. You can relax and forget the time in the two adjacent rooms, one with an 8 tatami mat space and the other with a 6 tatami mat space. The greenery of the garden visible from the large windows and the fantastic scenery at dusk leave a lasting impression.
This area is blessed with the bounty of the sea and mountains. At the inn, you can enjoy home-cooked dishes using fresh seafood unique to the fishing town, as well as fresh vegetables picked from nearby mountains. Handmade pickled plums and pickles served for breakfast are also recommended.
Escape from everyday life and experience Japan's original landscape and traditional culture. Why not create unforgettable memories at the dream-like "Tohmiya Inn"?
