Located in Shinsyu Yudanaka, Marukakan Inn is a charming inn renovated from an old wooden house. You can't help but be captivated by the scent of the Showa era emanating from the building. As you climb the stairs, the wooden bolt welcomes you at the door.
The rooms are spacious. Sitting on the wide veranda, you can enjoy a moment of relaxation while gazing at the neighboring temple. At night, it feels like you're the only ones there. You are enveloped in a silence where only the sounds of insects and hot springs resonate.
Breakfast is served in a separate room, only for one person. While gazing at the scenic view through the open windows, you can relish the simple taste of rice in traditional lacquerware. The pickled radish goes well with the white rice, and the small dessert of yogurt and muscat grapes is delightful.
The inn is run by an elderly couple and their son. There are also areas where cleaning is not meticulous, but that is part of the charm of the inn. When greeted by the lovely host, you feel a sense of security as if returning to your grandmother's house.
Within walking distance from the inn, there are communal baths and foot baths that you can use for free. After bathing, walking outside will provide you with a wonderful and blissful time.
