Overview

Aoshima Park, located in the southwest of Iki Island, is a naturally rich small island floating in the Pacific Ocean. Connected to the mainland of Nagasaki by a bridge, this place is attractive with its rich natural environment and excellent facilities. As an ideal off-the-beaten-path tourist spot, it is very popular with families.

Scenic Beauty Woven by Nature

Crossing the Aoshima Ohashi Bridge, the first thing that catches your eye is the island's magnificent views. A shallow sea spreads out, and at low tide, you can walk to a small island off the coast. From the walking trail around the island, you can overlook the blue sea and white sandy beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Strolling while admiring the scenic sunset views will be the best time to refresh away from everyday life.

Packed with Activities

Aoshima Park offers various facilities. There are tennis courts, sports fields, playground equipment, and other spots to enjoy activities. The ability for people of all ages to move their bodies as they wish is the attraction here. Cycling around the island will also be a change of pace. You can also experience sea kayaking, where the difficulty depends on the paddler.

Enjoying the Blessings of the Mountains and the Sea

There are no restaurants on the island, but there is a barbecue area where you can enjoy a packed lunch. The greatest charm is being able to taste fresh local seafood and unique island vegetables. Dining at a scenic point overlooking the Pacific Ocean should offer a special taste.

Convenient Location for Visiting

Aoshima Park is about a 1-hour drive from Nagasaki City. The fact that it can be easily visited in a day is a delightful point. The parking lot is spacious and well-maintained, so you can easily visit. It is also easy to combine with other sightseeing spots in Nagasaki, and you can have a meaningful stay.

I came to Aoshima Park in early November. To get here, I crossed the sea bridge and parked my car in the parking lot on the right side of the entrance. There is a sea kayak experience facility at the back of the parking lot. If you cross the sea bridge and go straight ahead, there is a power plant and it is a no-trespassing area, so the only option is to enter the parking lot on the right. This is a medium-sized sports park with a ground field, a tennis court field, and an area with children's play equipment.

I saw a bridge from a distance, so I crossed it and took a look. When we entered the island, there was a power plant in front of us and it was a dead end. By car, you can only go to the parking lot at the entrance.

This park is located in Aoshima, Ashibe Town, and the entire small island where Kyushu Electric Power's Iki Thermal Power Plant is located has been turned into a park and multipurpose ground. It's a great place to spend your days off, playing sports, walking, and eating lunch. The park also has a baseball field, tennis courts, and more, as well as athletic and children's play equipment, an observation deck, flower beds, benches, and an arbor, so it can be enjoyed by both children and adults. There are bicycles available for rent, and the area is crowded with parents and children on holidays.

I'm going to cross the bridge There are grounds and tennis courts where you can play sports. There is also a toilet at the entrance. Parking lot is also large If you go straight down the road, there will be an electric power company. I had to make a U-turn.
