The Jingu-ji Temple, located in the Asama Onsen area of Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, was founded in the Nara period. It is a historically significant temple with its over 400-year-old Mimon Sugi tree and a beautiful stone garden, exuding the majestic atmosphere of the Rinzai sect. The fusuma paintings in the main hall, masterpieces by the Japanese painters Maruki couple, create a fantastic landscape during the autumn leaves season.
