Iwadono-san Sekishoin stands in Yoshimi Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture. This historic temple is said to be the site of Minamoto no Noriyori's mansion, Minamoto no Yoritomo's half-brother, passing down the spirit of the Kamakura period to today. Featured in the NHK Taiga drama 'The 13 Lords of the Shogun,' it is also known as a place linked to the Hiki clan.
Sekishoin's history is ancient, said to originate around 730 or 806. During the Heian period, it reportedly quelled the Taira no Masakado rebellion, earning the court's favor and the name 'Sekishoin.' The principal deity is Fudo Myo-o, still exuding spiritual power today.
