Located in the back alley of Hirakawa-cho in Chiyoda Ward, 'Men-doku 2nd Generation Tsujita' is a renowned seafood soup shop. Despite its small interior with only 8 counter seats, it offers an impactful flavor.
The highly recommended dish is the specialty Nidaime Tsukemen (1,350 yen). The soup is blended with seafood broth, chicken bones, and pork bone, creating a unique flavor. It has a rich yet light and elegant taste.
The roast pork and menma (seasoned bamboo shoots) are exquisite. The tender texture of the roast pork is captivating. The noodles are soft and thick, providing an excellent match with the dipping sauce.
Adding black shichimi pepper deepens the flavor even more. Squeezing sudachi also enhances the taste. You can also increase the volume with soup-wari (diluting the soup).
Since the shop is small, it's wise to avoid bringing large baggage. It may be crowded, but there is a ticket vending machine, and the turnover is fast, so you can enter the shop quickly.
A popular shop with superb seafood umami and rich flavors. When you visit Tokyo, be sure to stop by.
