Situated in Mure Town, Takamatsu City, the Tomb of King Shinchi is the resting place of King Shinchi (Prince Kamukushi), considered the founder of Sanuki Province. As the prince of Emperor Keikō, the 12th emperor, King Shinchi’s tomb is one of two imperial graves managed by the Imperial Household Agency in Kagawa Prefecture, giving it a special presence.
Although dilapidated during the Edo period, the tomb was rebuilt in 1869 through the efforts of Matsudaira Yoritomo, the governor of Takamatsu Domain. Today, an annual festival called
