This was my first time using this campsite as a base for climbing Mt. Tateshina, and I fell in love with this campsite...♪
As everyone has said, the warm hospitality of the owner really touched my heart. Even though we were strangers, they welcomed us like family...
After checking in, we were served coffee in a tea party-like setting with locals and regulars, which was really fun.
The free site is easy to peg, and you can also use the mat that is placed under the tent.
There is also cold spring water, and when I asked for a canned beer, they cooled me down with spring water!
I'll come visit again!

When I popped in on a weekday, it was just me and one other person.
The manager told me, ``There aren't many customers, so please take your time,'' so I was able to laze around until around noon. It's great that there are no strict check-out times.
As per the reviews, the personalities of the manager and his wife are great. There were no customers in the hut, so I got permission to park in the space in front of the hut, so it was easier to transport the parts.
Firewood and fire starters are free, so it's a paradise for people who like to start fires, but the manager said it might be tough to get free firewood next season.
It's a great campsite and I'll be back!

I used it for the first time for two days and one night. The tent site was a cheap 1,000 yen, and the cottage was 6,000 yen. The owner was very kind and friendly, and we had some fun stories while having coffee.

This is a cozy campsite that is open from the May holidays until the end of October every year.
From around 8am, you can choose your favorite spot on a first-come, first-served basis.
The manager is also very nice, and it's a campsite that makes you want to come back again.
The downside is that the restrooms are Japanese-style with a pumping system, but for a pumping system, they are clean and disinfected, so the smell wasn't too bad.
You can also use mats for firewood and ground sheets for free.

I used it for solo camping and biking in September. As others have written, the manager's personality is very nice, which is what makes this campsite so appealing.
I also liked that firewood and water were available for free. Also, you can keep your trash with you on your bike, so that was a good thing.
