Located in a tranquil space embraced by the mountains, Horyuji Shrine is named after a mountain that is said to bring treasures to visitors. The precincts, with the main hall as a borrowed landscape, are enveloped in a sacred atmosphere surrounded by the greenery of the trees and the mountains.
Each building, including the main hall, torii gate, and prayer hall, is adorned with exquisite decorations that evoke a sense of history. Especially, the appearance of the main hall shining in the light of the sunset can truly be called a "treasure." The view of the mountains from the precincts is also stunning.
The smiling shrine priest can kindly explain the origins of the shrine and how to worship amulets. There are also a variety of omikuji, and it is enjoyable to choose auspicious ones. Ema and votive tablets can also be dedicated.
Despite being located in the mountains, there are signs that make it easy to access. There are free parking lots both inside and outside the precincts, making it easy to visit. However, attention is required as the mountain road is narrow.
