Katsuragawa Shinden District Park, located along the Katsuragawa River in the center of Uenohara city, is known for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring, becoming a beloved cherry blossom viewing spot for local residents.
The park is home to about 80 cherry blossom trees, which can be viewed from the riverside promenade. The sight of pink petals reflecting in the clear waters of the Katsuragawa River truly evokes the arrival of spring. Numerous benches are installed in the park, allowing visitors to leisurely enjoy cherry blossom viewing.
The Katsuragawa River is a clear stream inhabited by various trout species such as Black Bass, Rainbow Trout, and Yamame, making it a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts. A fishing permit is required, which can be purchased within the park.
It is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from Uenohara Station on the JR Chuo Main Line. The cherry blossoms usually reach full bloom in early April, but this timing may vary depending on the actual flowering conditions. The most bustling time is around mid-April when the local popular event
