A corner of the wet precinct in the rain. There, a black cat welcomed me as I walked out the door of the cafe, which was a renovated old private house. As if inviting me to this place, it approached my feet. Guided by the black cat at the entrance, I stepped into Sakura Cafe.
As I entered the store, I could see the townscape of Onomichi and the inlet from the hilltop, a panoramic view. The sound of the train could be heard from the large window, and from time to time, the breeze made me feel the joy and nostalgia of traveling. The gentle chirping of birds enveloped me in the soothing background music, as time passed by leisurely.
On Monday afternoon, there were hardly any other customers. I sat wherever I liked, and enjoyed a cup of coffee while reading a book at my leisure. The staff did not disturb me, allowing me to spend time at ease. Eventually, as dinner time approached, I decided to end the pleasant two-hour break.
Sakura Cafe is known for its delicious freshly brewed coffee. I also took a sip and felt relieved. It is said that ordering the daily cake set along with a cup of freshly brewed coffee is both economical and recommended. This time, I refrained as I was preparing for dinner, but I definitely want to try it next time.
As I walked out the door, the black cat was completely gone. However, the memory of being greeted by the cat has undoubtedly made the wonderful time at Sakura Cafe even more enjoyable. In the interlude of tourism, stop by here and experience the healing space where you can enjoy a cat-like leisure mood.
