Ryujin Shrine, nestled in the mountains of Sakurai, Nara Prefecture. Its name originates from the fact that it is the "龗(りつ)" place where the dragon god dwells. As you walk up the approach, a pond surrounded by lush greenery appears. The main hall standing on the opposite bank is like a dragon's lair.
The interior of the main hall is shrouded in a mystical atmosphere, filled with dragon ink paintings and sacred sake. Standing in front of the hall, you can feel the occasional breeze blowing through the pond. It's as if the dragon god is welcoming you.
This place retains remnants of the union of Shinto and Buddhism, with the smoke of incense and the presence of Jizo statues creating a sense of harmony. Though it is a modest and simple shrine, it exudes a sacred atmosphere that transcends time and space.
It is said that you can receive the protection of the dragon god, with blessings that correspond to important moments in life such as matchmaking and safe childbirth. For those who are connected to the dragon, why not indulge in the presence of the dragon god enshrined in the shrine?
