My wife and I went twice to Sushi Masa @ Kyoto Station during our stay at Kyoto. Food was great and quality was excellent. I had sashimi set twice and my wife had chirashi set special & maguro-don special. Sakura-san was very attentive. She recognised and welcomed us to the restaurant. Her service was excellent.

We went to this restaurant as a group of 5 people to eat sushi. The staff were not very friendly. They said there was no chair for the child and did not give a chair for the 5th person to the table. We thought about getting up but wanted to give it a chance. The sushi fishes weren’t very fresh looking. It cannot be said that it is delicious either. Also the prices are not cheap. In total, we paid 10 thousand yen for around 40 pieces of sushi, 2 cokes and 1 beer. Although we ate sushi in the following days, we never went to this restaurant again. Probably the only positive is the location, as this restaurant is in the Station.

Nice small sushi restaurant. Fresh und good sushi. A little too expensive from my point of view. The service is good. Well suited for a stopover. Overall, I can recommend the restaurant.

The staff was very friendly and the environment looks okay. However, the ¥2700 Unagi bento was disappointing. You'd get a way better Unagi meal elsewhere.

Needed a place for dinner that was nearby so we popped into Sushi Masa for something to eat. Food was alright, slightly on the steeper price range but still good nonetheless. Perhaps it was during peak dining times (6-6.30pm) and the waiters were swamped which was why we were ushered to pay before all our orders came. With my limited Japanese I couldn't really communicate that we were waiting for the last orders which hadn't been served but luckily the waitress realised in the end. Good place for a quick meal with no fuss but definitely space for improvement on the servicing front.
