Definitely still open!!! This place is a great public bath! There were 6 different baths in the women's section. One of them was empty and out of order but other than that they had a good variety of cold, warm hot and even a shower/waterfall one. If you don't understand Japanese they have a basic question and answer sheet in English so you can ask for soap or whatever. The lockers are 10yen and you don't get the 10yen back.

I thought I was the only one who experienced poor service, the staff rolled his eyes when I got confused about the ticket machine. Later when I finished the staff changed to an elderly lady and she was polite. It is indeed cheap unfortunately not really worth the trip to Gero.

Not worth the time, the attendant isn't friendly, you need spare 10 yen coins to use lockers and hairdryer. There's much better onsens around Japan. Awkwardly there's 2 cameras on the male locker room, maybe also in the female room. Be careful everyone.

There was free parking available on site if you happen to be driving. It was a decent place although it looked a little rundown and I did not notice and outdoor types (if you're into those). The staff were also attentive and polite. Remember to buy your tickets first at the machine upon entering before passing them to the front desk personnel who will then guide you along. There's also a couple of family style private rooms too which was nice.

Went here many years ago and am shocked it’s still open. I agree with other reviewers, the staff was cold, rude and unprofessional. The few indoor baths were “fine” - not up to “onsen town levels” but fine; but when I went to the outdoor bath, it was empty with a hose and a few dead leaves lying in it. When I asked why, the only answer I got was “休みです” (it’s not open). “I can see that, why isn’t it open?” “休みですので” (Because it isn’t open). This continued until my wife pulled me out because I was considering committing a felony. Let this place die. Go to the hotel onsens or - better yet - just avoid Gero.
