Located along the national road in Tosashichiko, Kochi Prefecture, Kuroshio Udon is a long-standing udon shop with a history of over 60 years. It exudes a calm atmosphere reminiscent of an old folk-style house, with a striking bear figurine carrying a large salmon.
The specialty of the shop is the thick, chewy kettle-cooked udon. Served steaming hot from the kettle, it is complemented by an exquisite dashi broth with a delicate kelp fragrance. The udon has a smooth texture and pairs exceptionally well with the broth.
The menu offers a wide variety, such as the plum-seasoned 'bukkake udon' and the 'gomoku udon' with mountain vegetables, meat, and tempura crumbs. No matter which dish you choose, it promises a satisfying taste.
Although the interior has an old-fashioned ambiance, the staff's humorous service enhances the comfort. There are also days with free upsizing, and the reasonable pricing is also an attraction. Kuroshio Udon is a restaurant where you can fully enjoy the exquisite udon, making it a worthwhile visit.
