A charming traditional Japanese house quietly stands in a corner of the urban area of Shimonoseki, preserving the atmosphere of the good old days. This inn is a renovation of an old house built in the Meiji period.
As you pass through the entrance, you are greeted by a coat of arms carved into the substantial transom. Take off your shoes, walk down the long corridor, and a spacious study appears. From the shoji windows, you can see the greenery of the garden, and the shadows projected by the lanterns create an elegant atmosphere.
There are a total of 7 rooms, including the study, and each room has its own unique charm. While preserving the traditional sukiya architecture, they create a comfortable space that incorporates modern living.
At Keigetsu, kaiseki cuisine made with fresh local ingredients is served. The choice of tableware, the presentation, and the artisan's skills shine in each dish. The creative cuisine, at times playful, can be enjoyed visually and with the palate.
The menu changes with the seasons, with spring featuring Fukurahara-raised yellowtail, summer featuring the famous Shimonoseki dish
