We really enjoyed our time here. We sent a weekend. It is a little aways from Beppu but still has the charm and beauty. We loved the views and the breakfast spread. We especially loved the cotton candy maker for breakfast. The onsen was big and very relaxing. It was tattoo friendly too. They also have a special sweet and drink time from 9-11 pm which was such a treat. The Grand Mercure was perfect for a weekend getaway. Thank you Grand Mercure ❤️🌸

Amazing value for money hotel. Rooms are a bit outdated but overall very spacious with everything you need (I went twice and opted for the japanese style room). The staff is kind and try to speak english. They have a lounge with a beautiful view offering free snacks and drinks. From 15:00 to 18:00 beer and soft drinks. From 21:00 to 23:00 liquors and soft drinks. The big bath is pretty good with an indoor area including a sauna and a small outdoor space. They also have a swimming pool outside. Overall a very nice experience and located a bit far from Beppu town if you don’t have a car

After rebranding name to Grand Mercure Beppu Bay, they renovated their Lobby, 2F Restaurant, B1 Hot Spring and rooms on higher floor. Breakfast is amazing, Lounge service is kindly, but the front desk service still needs time to improve that because they now are one part of Accor. B1 Osen (hot spring)is good, truly recommended.

One of the worst in service among the many hotels I had stayed. We were asked to pay for the water for the room on the second day, where we stayed three days! We book a double beded room but ended with three beds in the room.

Great onsen and nice outside pool (especially for children). Beautiful views on the sea. The breakfast is great and the buffet dinner as well. Friendly staff with people who are willing to help despite limited English. However, the rooms have not been touched for 40 years or so. Tiny bathroom, stained, worn and simply outdated. The location is a 25-minute taxi ride from Beppu station. I would recommend to go here if you have a car or don’t mind taking taxis everywhere or if you want to use the magnificent onsen. This place does need a deep refurbishment….
