A fairly new Korean restaurant in the neighborhood. I was a bit disappointed with the Korean style fried chicken, which had a cinnamon sweet flavor instead of the spiciness that I am used to (almost believe someone mixed the ingredients...) Still the japchae was good so I'm willing to come back for some Korean BBQ. Crowd Size: High (Reservation Recommended) Payment Method: Credit Card

Overall, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. All of the options for meats required you to order for at least 2 people, so it immediately drove up prices; however, I didn’t feel that the quality was up to par. The cleanliness of the place, staff service, nice interior and atmosphere made up for the disappointment I felt with the food. I hope they can raise the bar for the food, since it’s such a nice place and pretty good concept.

It took 3 separate tries to get a table here. That's pretty frustrating but it goes to show how popular this restaurant is. If I weren't set on eating here and reviewing how much of an authentic Korean food experience I could have, I would have given up on the second try and gone elsewhere. I was asked each time if I had made a reservation, so I recommend making one if you have a set date and time you want to dine in. I was sat at the counter but was offered a table as soon as one became available. My coat was also taken and stored on a hanger in the back. The staff were friendly and provided good service from start to finish. There was a mistake, unfortunately, and when I got home, I saw that I had been charged for the 막걸리 makkeolli for the table next to me... As for MY drinks, I ordered a bottle of soju and I upgraded to a mega draft beer for ¥300. I would say the prices are higher than your average Izakaya. It felt like a crime to pay over 1,000 yen for a single bottle of soju, but there is an all-you-can-drink 飲み放題 option. I had work the next day, so I decided against it, but I think nomihoudai would have been cheaper even if I only had 2 drinks, or if I'd ordered 2 small beers instead of 1 mega beer. For food, I ordered half & half fried chicken. The presentation was aesthetically pleasing, and the chicken 무 (radish) on the side got bonus points from me because the first Korean place I went to didn't offer any. The jalapeño mayo chicken wasn't spicy enough for me but it was delicious, and cut the taste of the thick yangnyeom sauce. They also have a TV playing kpop music videos, and a semi-open kitchen so you can see the chefs heads as they prepare the food. There are lots of things to hold your attention, especially if you're dining alone.

Sevice really bad.... the ignore us all the time and forget our food, we use the call button and also ignored us , we also asked the check and they forgot so we stand up to the counter..

New modern Korean restaurant on shinmaruko Don't need to go to shin Okubo. Good portions and tasty food. Second time
