Hachibe Aoyama Honten is the main store of the rather well-known sushi chain in Japan. Servers are unwelcoming, to say the least! As shown in one of the photos, the Oshibori (the wet towel to wipe your hands) is placed directly on top of the sticky table, which is rather unsanitary. The restaurant is dimly lit, making it difficult to see how dirty the patterned dining tables are, especially after a few drinks. Set lunch comes with a bowl of miso soup, salad bar, and refillable white rice. The Sushi Set Tokujou (very special) with 10 pieces of sushi and half maki roll (JPY 3,000) is simply terrible! Most of the sushi taste fishy, including the “very special” fatty tuna, salmon roe and sea urchin sushi.

This is a fantastic place, sushi is fresh and really enjoyable. Service attentive, excellent selection of sake. I cannot stop thinking of the tuna sushi, it was amazing.

I enjoyed Sushi and beef, amazing eats, not too pricey Tucked in the small street but you can see a neon light sing saying Wine in Red... very welcoming. I had a baby with me.
