The following is a proposed structure for a sightseeing article introducing Enmeiji Temple in Nara Prefecture.
Enmeiji Temple is an ancient temple located on the hills of Nara City. It is also known as "Sanmura Gosho" and is recognized as a temple closely associated with the Imperial Family. The temple plays a significant role in Yukio Mishima's masterpiece "The Sea of Fertility", where the temple, called "Gesshuji", serves as an important setting.
Visitors to Enmeiji Temple are first captivated by the beautiful approach to the temple grounds. The gently curving stone path, reflecting the seasonal ambiance, provides a sense of tranquil serenity throughout the year: the fresh green of spring, the shade of summer, the autumnal colors, and the wintry snowscape.
Unfortunately, the main hall of Enmeiji Temple is not open to the general public. However, from the grand main gate, visitors can catch a glimpse of a part of the temple grounds, harmonizing green lawns and white gravel. Contemplating within the enclosed barrier, one might imagine the world of the towering nun's temple.
In one corner of the Enmeiji Temple grounds, the ancestral graves of the temple's successive abbesses are enshrined. Here, visitors can reflect on the birth and life of the abbesses. Quietly standing before these tombs may evoke contemplation about the timeless history built upon this land.
Visiting temples for sightseeing is common, but Enmeiji Temple is a mysterious temple that is not easily accessible. Perhaps, it is this closed-off world that is the charm of this nun's temple. It might be a good idea to immerse oneself in contemplation and stimulate the imagination amidst the tranquility.
