In the Hiyoshi Machi Local Museum, cultural assets of the submerged village, relocated from the bottom of the lake, are revived. In the museum's courtyard, two thatched-roof old houses stand, allowing visitors to reminisce about the lifestyle of the past.
You can freely enter the relocated old houses, basking in the sun on the veranda or lying on the tatami, enjoying a leisurely time. The surrounding scenery, with firewood, crops, fruit trees, and flowers, allows you to immerse yourself in the nostalgic atmosphere as if you were visiting a family's old garden.
The atmosphere of the town centering around the old houses is also highly valued as a location for period drama movies and dramas. The museum is also dedicated to the preservation of traditional culture, and strives to enrich its video library. Why not enjoy a leisurely stroll while pondering about history and culture?
