The camp ground is pretty good. It's situated at the foot of an active skiing resort. The ground has a high slope so finding a flat/ flatish ground is the key. There are a few spots that are flat but they are few, so your first move is to find a spot that is satisfying for you. You can place your tent in open area or in the treeline. Because it's situated next to national park, there is an active population of deer that comes to this place for grazing at night. You need to be mindful of that and also not freakout if you hear some noise at night near your tent ( a few people do freak out).
I recommend to put away for leftover food in your car or something to avoid any issue but everyone has their own way of doing thing .
In fall camping, the place do gets pretty cold, sub zero at night, so do be ready for that as everything freezes over.
For the fall camping, there is a hard date of last day of camping as the staff prepares the slope for winter and skiing. So if going late in season, do check it , as you may come late and won't be allowed to camp.
The site is expensive, 1000¥ /person.
Toilet is a bit far away, another thing to be mindful of, specially at night.
Overall, recommend, with caution.

Great spot to camp, toilets are about 200 meters away from the water/cooking facilities, which were really good. We saw deer and a monkey plus lots of interesting insects. Really close to the lake. It cost 1000yen per adult per night, and you pay at the information center close to the bus station

It was raining the next day, but still beatiful place. We didn't know it would get so cold during the night, so come prepare with enough warm clothes. You can even see deers. We want to come back with a sunny weather. The only problem is that toilets are not very close to the camping area. There are a lot of onsen near by where you can take a bath.

This is one of my favorite camping spots of all time. Loads of space but quite popular when the weather is nice. Regardless you can find a spot somewhere if you look hard enough. 1000 yen a person is a little steep for camping to me, but with running water and clean bathroom facilities it is a critical spot. A nice little hike nearby and loads to do during the day if you head toward the lake. We always see deer and occasionally monkeys when we come so don't leave food out!
