Train station • 1 Chome-7 Kunijima, Higashiyodogawa Ward, Osaka, 533-0024, Japan
Just a short distance from the center of Osaka, you will find Suzenji Station nestled in a quiet residential area. This small station is an unmanned station on the Hankyu Kyoto Main Line, and it is surrounded by hidden cherry blossom attractions.
The cherry blossom avenue at Shibajima Water Purification Plant near Suzenji Station displays beautiful scenery in spring. Approximately 300 cherry blossom trees elegantly adorn the grounds of the water purification plant, creating a fantastical atmosphere as if walking through a painting.
In the evening, the cherry blossoms are illuminated, casting a particularly charming glow in the darkness. However, access to the water purification plant is limited, so it is recommended to check the opening hours in advance.
The namesake of Suzenji Station, Suzenji Temple, stands on this land with a history dating back to the Heian period and is home to numerous wall paintings and national treasures. The lingering serene atmosphere from the ancient cherry trees within the temple grounds exudes a sense of tranquility that has been cultivated over the years.
Unfortunately, the Hankyu Kyoto Main Line's continuous elevated crossing project is currently underway, and the station is operating with a temporary unmanned station building. Once the construction is completed, the liveliness will return, but until then, it is recommended to enjoy the peaceful ambience.
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city, and experience the harmony of history and nature in the vicinity of Suzenji Station. The current tranquil atmosphere is also quite pleasant. During the cherry blossom season, why not pay a visit?
