A place where you will only see local. An old couple run this place and everything is in Japanese only with no pictures. Had to use google translate to ask the chef to make me some sushi. Totally authentic experience and the sushi is good too. At least for me. Price is not the cheapest but for this experience and the effort in serving, it is worth it.

Nao Tokyovulpes

This store was originally located next to Nishi-Koyama Station before it was redeveloped, and is loved by regulars. When I was hesitant to order because there was no price displayed on the menu, a regular customer advised me not to worry because it wasn't expensive, and when I ordered it, it turned out to be really not expensive. This sushi restaurant is loved by locals and is always nearly full due to the large number of repeat customers. We recommend making a reservation when you go. There is a tatami room in the back, and most of the space is a counter. At first glance, the chef may seem tough, but he also cracks jokes and kindly teaches us how to eat. Of course, nigiri is delicious, such as live shrimp, unfrozen tuna, melt-in-your-mouth fatty tuna, and a handful of conger eel, but we also recommend eating it as sashimi. The location is across from what used to be Super Daikokuya. It is also 1 or 2 minutes from the station.
