Kinzan Park is a small park on the remote island of Innoshima in Onomichi City, but its quaint atmosphere and historical landscape are charming. Here, you can fully enjoy the picturesque view called the little Kyoto of Innoshima.
The heart of Kinzan Park is a narrow alley paved with cobblestones. With traditional white-walled townhouses lining both sides, it feels as if you have wandered into the Edo period's little Kyoto, transcending time and space. It's also nice to stroll through the alley and reflect on the lives of the islanders in the past.
If you go a little further from the alley, you will come out into the park with small hills and streams visible. It is a luxurious experience to enjoy the island's nature while walking through the green shade of the trees. Listening to the chirping of birds and gazing at the murmuring of the river, time flows leisurely.
After leaving the park, it is recommended to taste the local specialty gourmet food at a nearby country cuisine restaurant. They serve homely dishes made with fresh seafood and mountain vegetables from the island, allowing you to immerse yourself in the leisurely rustic atmosphere. Buying local cuisine such as Satsuma-age as a souvenir would also be a great memory.
Kinzan Park, the little Kyoto of Innoshima, is a small paradise far away from the hustle and bustle. You can't help but be captivated by the past and present as you spend time on the island. Why not visit and experience the island's time?
