The Nakasendo route passed through Takamiya without passing through Hikone. A post town remains in good condition for 900 meters from Kinomoto Jizo to Muri Bridge. Takamiya-juku is a branch point on the approach to Taga Taisha Shrine, and there is the first torii gate of Taga Taisha Shrine in the middle of the post.
