The Takamiya-Shukueki on the Nakasendo is a precious historical heritage located in Hikone City. It is a place full of atmosphere with the vestiges of the post town remaining over 900 meters. Walking on the cobblestone paths surrounded by trees, you will feel as if you have transcended time and space.
Takamiya-Shukueki is dotted with interesting historic sites such as the Honjin ruins and the streetlights. It is also located at the branching point of the approach to Taga Taisha, and the torii gate of the shrine can be seen in the middle of the post town.
