As stated on the website, there is a sea route and a mountain route, and we recommend the sea route that goes up from the Hamabashi intersection on Route 136 (photo attached). I took the mountain route on my way back, but the road was narrow and quite nerve-wracking.
This time, we used the barbecue. It was raining heavily that day, but the barbecue area had a roof so it was okay.
I went to Aoki on Route 136 to buy ingredients. It's about 15 minutes by car. Normally, I would have to light the charcoal myself, but since I don't usually do barbeques, I forgot to bring the fire starter, so the staff at the facility kindly lit the fire for me.
When using a barbecue, you will need a grill, charcoal (for a fee), a grill, and tongs for the charcoal, but you will need to prepare everything else.
As for the accommodation, the school has been beautifully renovated, so you don't have to worry about sleeping or using the toilet. I would like to use it again.
I didn't bring a swimsuit this time, but I definitely want to bring one next time.

I only used the hot spring pool..I went there in the heavy rain. Just in case, I asked them the day before, ``Can I use the pool even if it rains?'' They said it was okay. I might be the only one going to the pool in this kind of weather... For better or for worse, this facility was free to use, and there were no lifeguards at the pool.It was nice to have a pool in a foreign country, but it was too cold to swim in. Normally..it's likely to be closed due to bad weather..but I liked it there too. Being in the hot spring outlet seems to be a little bearable. The water temperature is, like other hot spring pools, quite low. The drive up the mountain road was filled with fog and falling rocks...I got tired before going to the pool. Apparently there was also a road closure announcement later.

Late February 2024 ☀️〜☁️〜☔
From Kanagawa Prefecture.
The former elementary school has been beautifully renovated.
There is a schoolyard and a pool 🏊♂️.
I couldn't use the pool because it wasn't the right time.
It's totally ok since it's a very cold season.
We ate dinner ourselves at the BBQ square 🍖.
We buy ingredients at the supermarket and eat them in the schoolyard.
It was super delicious😁
Water place only. No detergent. No baking dish.
There are no rental cookers or plates.
I'll bring everything myself.
Charcoal and fireworks are sold at the reception of the inn.
This is my style.
This is also good👍👍
But but. Be considerate of your surroundings
Please enjoy.
The room is clean and nice😁👍
The bath is 🙅.
I took a bath in the morning and came out extremely disappointed.
But but. This inn is good.
There is freedom. I want to come again.

About BBQ
You can buy charcoal at the front desk.
Free used tongs available
Free used grills available
Prepare all the seasonings yourself.
Please prepare all tableware such as plates and chopsticks by yourself.
There are Max Value and 100 yen stores in Matsuzaki.
The staff at the inn will clean up the charcoal.
If you want to buy fish, we recommend Sunfresh on the south side of Matsuzaki. You can also ask for the preparation of the fish, so buy a whole fish and try grilling it.

This accommodation facility is a renovated school building that was actually a school.
It is located in a quiet village in the mountains, with rivers and the ocean nearby, and there is also a place where you can BBQ on the grounds.
I only used the pool on a day trip.
To be precise, it's a hot spring, so it's a large open-air bath.
You can enter from March to November, but please note that it is cold outside of summer. There is no jacuzzi or heating.
Since it's outdoors, there are quite a few fallen leaves floating around, but the water is crystal clear and beautiful.
On days when there aren't many people, it's great to be able to rent out the 25m pool for just 400 yen (free for hotel guests) 😊
There is also a changing room.
Apparently this pool was featured on the TV show Nanikore Chin Hyakkei 😊
The accommodation room is also a classroom that was actually used, so you can enjoy a nostalgic atmosphere, so I would definitely like to stay there next time.
The entrance to Yamabikoso is very narrow, so please be careful when driving. The road is also a decent mountain path lol
Please note that the parking lot field becomes muddy when it rains.
There are some parts of the changing room that are old and inconvenient, such as the sand under your feet, but the point of this facility is that you can enjoy the old-fashioned atmosphere, so it was a good experience including that. ✨✨

I actually stayed there as well.
If you stay without meals, the price is an incredible 4,000 yen.
Plus, the bath and pool are free!
The room was also more beautiful than I expected.
There is also a microwave, so you can bring your own meals!
There was also a cooler, but I didn't have a remote control, so I guess I can't use it yet...? ? It was hot for this time of year, so I wanted to put some on...
There was a fan, so it was fine.
However, there were a lot of insects due to the location, and there were swarms of small ants swarming around the dead insects in the changing room💦💦
If this is the case in May, it might be even more amazing in summer💦
However, overall it was a very nice facility!
By the way, even if all the rooms are empty on the itinerary, when you actually go there, there are actually other groups. It seems that some parts are not counted.
