Nice hike. Spectacular views, if the weather is fine. Most western mountain to hike in mainland Japan without having to use a ferry or airplane.

Climbed in March 2023. I thought it was Shishigiyama, but the correct answer was Shijiki-san (・ω・`) Perhaps because the summit is sharp, there are many steep slopes, and ropes are strung along the way. Instead, it seems like it doesn't take much time. You can go with light clothing, but gloves are a good idea. Although the summit was narrow, the view was great. It's nice to see the parking lot for climbers below.

It's quite a long journey to get to this place, but the view from the top of the mountain and from the rocky area just before the summit is amazing! On a sunny day, definitely! It's one of the mountains I'd like to visit again! Afterwards, be sure to stop by the Fukura fishing port square and see the mountains from the breakwater!

It was my first time climbing. It takes about 90 minutes to reach the summit. Although you can easily climb the mountain with low-altitude hiking equipment, the journey is quite impressive. Most of the trail passes through the forest, so it's cool and recommended for summer mountain climbing. Of course, the view from the top of the mountain is spectacular! You can see the ocean and the Goto Islands in front. All of the difficult footings have sturdy ropes, so even beginners can feel safe. There were also fortune slips (20 yen) at the shrines along the way, and nice souvenirs at the top of the mountain. The mountaintop is narrow and there is not much space to eat or take a break, so we recommend compact equipment.
