A small uninhabited island called "Yashijin" located on the outskirts of Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. As the name suggests, the entire island is covered with dense coconut trees, creating a landscape reminiscent of a tropical resort.
The sea surrounding the island is a vivid shade of blue, just like a painting. From the highly transparent seawater, you can overlook the scenery of coral reefs spreading across the seabed. The white sandy beaches on the east side of the island resemble the beaches of the Mediterranean in their beauty.
Under the coconut trees, beach umbrellas and benches are set up, allowing you to spend leisurely time. The island is equipped with toilets, foot washing areas, and simple dining facilities, making it suitable for day trips.
To get to Yashijin, it takes about 1 hour by car from the city center of Imabari. The ferry service operates at different frequencies depending on the time, so it is necessary to check in advance. There are no accommodation facilities, and the island is unmanned at night, so day trips are the norm. It is a charming uninhabited island where you can enjoy leisure time such as swimming and picnicking.
