The following is a proposed structure for a tourism article.
Situated on the south side of Fukuyama Castle, the Kinzuchi Gate is a solid turret gate relocated from Fushimi Castle in Kyoto in the 8th year of the Genwa era (1622). Along with the Fushimi Turret, this gate, as a part of the burnt buildings of Fushimi Castle before the Battle of Sekigahara, has become a precious cultural heritage.
The highlight of the Kinzuchi Gate is the delicate metal fittings on the gate. Dozens of iron bars are nailed to the gateposts and door, and various sizes of brass fittings decorate the corners and door. It may not be flashy, but the careful construction and unique elegance are impressive.
The Kinzuchi Gate is a fortunate building that escaped damage during the Fukuyama air raid in 1945. Its historical value has been recognized and designated as a national important cultural property. When strolling through the castle, be sure to stop by this gate and feel the technology and spirit of the time.
However, in 2019, there was an incident of plaster falling from the eaves of the gate, reminding us of the danger of old buildings. When visiting, thorough safety inspection is essential.
The Kinzuchi Gate is a living cultural heritage of Fukuyama Castle that tells the history of Fukuyama Castle. Let's immerse ourselves in the grace of this sturdy gate and reminisce about the history.
