Seirinji Temple quietly stands in the Higashiina area of Komagane City. Founded in 1615, this temple has over 400 years of history and is a Soto Zen temple. With the majestic scenery of the Central Alps as a backdrop, the tranquil and natural atmosphere charms visitors.
The temple grounds feature a red pine over 400 years old and a weeping cherry tree about 250 years old. Especially in spring, the sight of the weeping cherry tree through the white walls is spectacular. There are a few precautions to take when visiting Seirinji Temple. It takes about 15 minutes by car from JR Komagane Station, and about 1 hour and 30 minutes on foot. Additionally, the road leading to the temple is narrow, and the parking lot is limited to about 10 cars, so please be careful when visiting by car.
