Nirasaki Folklore Museum is a fascinating facility where you can experience the history and culture of Yamanashi Prefecture. Admission is free and anyone can visit easily, with valuable materials from the Jomon period unearthed locally to the Showa period being exhibited.
Many Jomon pottery and clay figures are displayed, allowing glimpses into the lifestyle of that time. Even though they are just fragments, the unique-shaped clay figures stimulate the imagination. In the diorama replicating the territory of Shinfu Castle, you can experience the defense and attack of that period. The surrounding terrain is clearly represented, allowing for a vivid experience of the siege. You can also freely receive a stamp of Shinfu Castle.
Exhibits include household items and buildings from the Meiji to Showa eras.
