I'll be as clear as possible - this hotel is far more than amazing! First point to mention - the service! I've never encountered more generous staff in any previous stay. The staff made everything super comfortable for us, including accommodating our dietary restrictions (kosher), taking full ownership on delivering our luggage to the airport (we literally had to do nothing), and making everything super smooth. You could actually sense the underlying collaboration between staff members. Then there are the smallest details. This hotel is equipped with the highest standards, starting from the tableware at breakfast, to the enormous and super comfortable beds. The breakfast was made out of the best quality products. The rooms are huge. Finally - location. The hotel is perfectly located for those who are looking for peacefulness and quiet, while maintaining a super easy access to anywhere in kyoto. The bus station is right next to the hotel front door, and there are direct lines to anywhere (kyoto station, gion, arashiyama bamboo forest, Fushimi inari...). There's also a big supermarket right in front of the hotel.

Hotel Okura Okazaki is beautiful, spacious and peaceful. It's located 20 minutes away from the worst tourist traps, and closer to the true gems of Kyoto, especially the hiking trails just 5 minutes away in walking distance. The people running and working at this hotel are the most service-minded people I've ever met. The breakfast is also setting a new bar. There is so much healthy, colourful food served. I didn't think orange juice and grapefruit juice could taste as good as the one they serve you at this hotel. And the coffee is excellent. Big thanks to the staff at Okazaki Bettei for a wonderful stay.

I’m very sad to have to write a bad review. I’m a very big fan of the Okura branch, in Bangkok is my second home, I whent to the Heritage Okura at Tokio and so I decided to try this boutique Okura in Kyoto, we had make reservation for 3 nights, but as we had a room on the road side and the 2 nd floor we couldn’t sleep because the noise, so I gave to pack and go to other hotel. So! Is impossible for me to say good of my experience here. The breakfast is just not my type of joy, I can’t choose what I want, only a small not enough menu a la Carte with many extra payment. I’m very difficult for eat and on this menu nothing good for my taste, I like gluten free breads, soy yogurt, I like to choose what fruit I prefer. Is a shame, I think if they put double glass in the windows, problem solved. I give 5 stars for the complementary happy our.

Hotel was not helpful and refused to help call a taxi for us to Kiyomizudera. We were asked to leave because we had trouble communicating in Japanese. I would highly discourage others from staying here if this is their attitude towards guests.

The best hotel we stayed at in Japan. Fantastic rooms and service. Nice and quiet just a short taxi ride to all the Kyoto action. Highly recommended… 5 star plus!!
