Room with a view. Excellent room catered meals. Shiga-san's service is topnotch. Everyone was professional and kind. We felt super relaxed.

Best quality in every detail of the foods served in dinner and breakfast! Perfect location, seeing the sunrise from the bed! I would love to come to Hama No Yu again, although it's an extremely long journey for me to travel from the US to Hama No Yu! Highly recommend it!

Great host and food is what you're buying. The service and delicious and expensive food makes the stay feel like an escape from Tokyo. Plenty of onsen activities and laid back vibe. Special thanks to nanami who provided an excellent atmosphere and was fun to joke around with.

Room : Our room has a veranda with a hammock. So I was able to do my reading at night without disturbing my sleeping wife. Open bath (rotenburo) : One of the best hotel bath that I have been to. The scenery was breathtaking, and you can catch the sunrise if it is not cloudy. (We were unlucky though). Service : The hotel staff in charge of our room was very friendly and hospitable. My mother-in-law needed some help with her health and the staff was very accommodating. Food (dinner and breakfast) : Both meals had a perfect balance between volume and quality. They prepared a lot of different dishes in small volumes so we could taste all of them without being overwhelmed. Kudos to the chef. Overall : Even though it is a bit pricey, I really recommend this hotel if you want to enjoy the Japanese experience, from the open bath to the superb washoku meals.

Loved staying here! We stayed in the 海の音 room, the nicest room in the ryokan. It was absolutely gorgeous! The staff were so accommodating and wonderful, and the food was great. My husband said that the seafood was the best he has ever had. I can’t wait to go again!
