We visited the top of the tower at night. Overall it was ok for the value. I’m giving it 4 stars because it’s affordable. The views were nice but you probably won’t stay long. It’s maybe a 20-30 minute ordeal. Once you see it, you are done. There’s a bit of an elevator wait to get down. Our line went pretty quickly. If you drink, I’d recommend stopping at the sky lounge on the way down. It’s got views and you can share drinks with friends or by yourself.

Visited Kyoto Tower and had a genuinely positive experience! The tower offers a unique vantage point over Kyoto, providing panoramic views that are hard to beat elsewhere in the city. While the observation deck is on the smaller side, it didn't take away from the enjoyment of taking in the breathtaking sights of Kyoto's historic landscape. An unexpected delight was receiving a free small photograph as a souvenir, a nice touch that added value to the visit. For those wanting a larger memento, there's an option to purchase a full-size photo for 1500 yen, which seems reasonable for a keepsake of this special experience. Despite the compact space of the observation deck, the overall visit was memorable. This tower is simple but it has a unique color effect when you see it at night. Though we never get the chance to go kn its observation deck but still we took pictures of its view. It is just right in front of the Kyoto train station. Its so nice really.

The views from the top were incredible, and we even spotted some temples in the distance, adding to the charm of the cityscape. The best part? It was affordable, and we got a free calendar for our photos! The only downside was that the tower felt a bit small. But overall, it was a fantastic experience we’ll always remember.

You won't miss it as you walked out of Kyoto station. Not too crowded. Surprisingly it has prayer room for muslim close to ticket counter on 3rd floor. Prayer room is clean. To use it you need to ask the ticket counter staff to open. After prayer you can buy tickets to the observation tower.
