Jousan Park of Ozu Castle is situated atop a 128-meter high rocky mountain in the center of Ozu City, Ehime Prefecture. From this park, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Ozu City and the changing scenery throughout the four seasons.
At the heart of the park stands the reconstructed castle tower of Ozu Castle, completed in 1994. This castle tower was originally constructed by Kato Yoshinobu in 1590. Surrounding the tower, remnants of the castle walls and stone ramparts from that era still remain, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in ancient times.
In spring, Jousan Park is also renowned as a cherry blossom viewing spot, boasting splendid weeping cherry trees and double-flowered cherry blossoms. The breathtaking scenery created by the fully bloomed cherry blossoms against the backdrop of the castle tower is truly worth seeing. At nighttime, the cherry blossoms are illuminated, creating a fantastical ambiance.
Jousan Park can be accessed within a 10-minute walk from the city center of Ozu. The parking lot is free and makes it an ideal base for sightseeing. The park is equipped with well-maintained green walking paths, perfect for leisurely strolls.
