Ikaruga-cho is a small town located in the northwest of the ancient capital, Nara. However, this area is home to historic temples dating back to the Asuka period. Among them, Hoki-ji Temple is particularly noteworthy.
The highlight of Hoki-ji Temple is the oldest surviving three-story pagoda in the country. Built in the 7th century, it is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage site
