Unexpectedly good experience. There is a short but steep climb to the ruins. They aren't much to look at but the climb gives a great view of Yonago and Sakaminato.

This is the ruins of Yonago Castle. There are some outer walls still standing and the top has a nice small grassy area. The best part is the view of which you can see Mount Daisen and Shimane. On a clear day, is is spectacular.

This is one of my favorite places in Yonago. This is probably the most famous park in the city, and it holds a few very important festivals. The Sakura Festival takes place in the spring. Here you can see around 500 cherry blossom trees in bloom. In August there is the Gaina Festival, Yonago's biggest event. At that time many food stalls are set up and it's a great place to view the fireworks that are set off nearby. The park also includes the ruins of Yonago Castle. In about 15-20 minutes you can walk to the top and get an incredible view of the city and lake. On a clear day you can even see the Sea of Japan and Mount Daisen. Highly recommend if you want to take a stroll or hike.
