I absolutely loved my stay at this location while I was in Kyoto. It was purely luxurious and the hospitality is the best that I've ever received. The rooms are immaculate and you won't be disappointed no matter where you stay on this property. The property is also well maintained and beautiful, it's almost like a piece of art. While I was at this property I also used the spa services and got treatment/ massages which was very relaxing and I am so glad that I made time for that. I highly recommend booking a spa treatment while you are at this property and be sure to book in advance. My only regret is that My schedule didn't allow for dinner at chef's table. But hopefully next time I can experience that.

Had an incredibly memorable two day solo stay at this property. Received the full princess treatment. The staff was so kind, spa was top notch, and overall service was impeccable. The property was so clean and well kept— gorgeous pool. It felt like a hidden gem. Would rate 10 stars if I could. Truly exceptional.

Overall Overpriced. A disappointment Compared to the price. I will have to admit that the rooms were amazing and very comfortable. However, the service and facilities were way below a five star hotel expectation. They only have a pool, no spas, and you would have to walk very far to get to the pool . The breakfast was not ideal as you can order one portion of a small fried egg . Upon checking in we had to wait on in 40 minutes if we wanted a staff to show us around .

Six days is not enough. I wish I could spend more time here and more time in Kyoto. I loved the peacefulness of being in the mountains. Although it is far from the city center, Kinkakuji is a walkable distance, and there are several temples around to explore that aren’t flooded with tour buses. The highlight however is the hotel itself. It is truly beautiful. Pictures and videos don’t do it justice, and I’m sure it’s beautiful in all seasons. The rooms are also very nice and immaculately clean. I made many requests, and concierge was able to follow up with all of them. The service they provide is just outstanding. I’m sure they are spread thin due to peak travel, so I appreciate that they never failed to provide amazing service. The staff will take care of you from pick up, check in, the spa, room service, and dining - it was all perfect. It is just a lovely hotel, and my favorite place I’ve stayed in so far.

Absolutely fantastic experience at this hotel! The staff are incredibly welcoming and hospitable throughout the property and restaurants, with excellent English proficiency. The room was not only beautiful but also spacious, offering stunning views of the serene hills. They even provided a baby cot and went above and beyond to accommodate my family. We're thrilled with our stay and will definitely return in the future.
