Sushi restaurant • 1958 Toyonakachō Kamitakano, Mitoyo, Kagawa 769-1504, Japan
Kagawa Prefecture is known for its abundance of renowned Sanuki udon noodle shops. However, this time we decided to take a slightly different approach and explore the local specialties. We visited the seemingly unassuming Sushiro store located on the eastern border in Mitoyo City.
Upon arrival, it quickly became apparent that this sushi chain restaurant is highly popular among the locals. Even on a weekday evening, the parking lot was almost full, and the interior of the restaurant was brimming with vitality. We immediately tasted the famous conveyor belt sushi, and the reason for its popularity became clear as day.
The first thing that caught our attention was the freshness of the sushi ingredients. The use of freshly caught seafood from the sea that blesses Mitoyo was evident at first glance. Furthermore, there was no limit to the number of items ordered, and we were overwhelmed by the continuous stream of abundant dishes.
In addition to the reasonable pricing and the familiar conveyor belt style, this restaurant has other unique charms. Most notably, the atmosphere is filled with the casual chatter of high school staff. It’s as if dining with current high school students, which may be a unique way to enjoy this restaurant.
With high cost effectiveness and a cozy atmosphere, you can savor the fresh ingredients and elaborate seasoning. It can be said that Sushiro San'yō Store is a hidden gem beloved by the locals. Pilgrims and travelers, why not take a detour and enjoy the local seafood in Kagawa?
