Best chicken in Karuizawa. We went there on a Thursday night for dinner without a booking and they accommodated us so nicely. The chicken thigh & skewers were our favorite. Had come here for dinner and so glad I came! Delicious tender chicken, grilled to absolute perfection. I don't understand how they managed to make something so simple like chicken taste so good. Get the chicken leg. This is clearly an institution that has been around in Karuizawa for centuries. Strongly recommended if you're looking for an affordable yet delicious meal in Karuizawa.

Family run establishment made famous by terrace house. Did not know when we went but found out that royal family have dined here as shown by the pictures. There's an English menu. And it closes at 8pm during winter weeknights, last order around 7.30pm. They specialise in chicken dishes and would recommend the following: 1. Griled chicken thigh 2. Fried breaded chicken with asparagus 3. Karaage Food exceeded expectations as we wondered how good can chicken get? But that chicken thigh is something special. Food service can be a bit slow as the grandfather(?) makes each dish with care... So be patient, its worth it!

Very nice family-run izakaya specializing in chicken dishes, especially good we’re the grilled thigh and asparagus wrapped in breaded chicken. Additionally, the tofu salad and garlic-miso sauce was very good and I’m not even a huge tofu guy, so very impressive dish.

Been around since 1960,this small family owned restaurant served yakitori chicken specialty..famous for its chicken thigh and pricing is reasonable Located in Karuizawa central ,the carparking is across the street
