A small cove with gentle ripples on the water's surface. This is a place with a long history that has been praised in the Manyoshu.

A place where ancient traditions are preserved

This small cove, Kobunoshigetto, has prospered as a gateway to the sea since the Nara period. Ships from Kyushu were carried overland and sailed across the Tsushima Strait to the Korean Peninsula and the Chinese mainland from here. It is said that ships of the missions to Tang China and Silla also departed from this cove.

Scenery of clear and beautiful seas

Even now, the sea of Kobunoshigetto is clear and shines in a beautiful blue-green color. Quiet scenery with squid, shrimp, and seagulls can be seen from the shore, and untouched nature is preserved, accessible by walking from a small parking lot surrounded by strange rocks.

A place where history meets nature

Kobunoshigetto, where the footsteps of Tsushima's history remain, is a place where time flows leisurely along with the beautiful scenery. It is a charming spot unique to Tsushima, where you can encounter the breath of nature and ancient vestiges.

It is a historical place mentioned in the Manyoshu poem. It is said that during the Nara period, ships coming from Kyushu to Kofunakoshi Seto were carried up the hill to the rowers on the opposite west side, and from there they went out into the Tsushima Strait beyond the inlet and headed for the Korean Peninsula and mainland China. The West Rower is said to have been the route traveled by envoys to Tang Dynasty and Silla, and later became a key point for maritime transportation during the medieval period, and is said to be the place where Buddhism was first introduced to Japan. Even now, the ship was standing quietly in the calm and clear bay.

There is a narrow road that is about the size of a light car, and at the end it is a dead end. It is a beautiful cove where the water is highly transparent and squid and rays can be seen with the naked eye. For those who are going, I recommend parking your car near the restroom and walking (*´Д`)

I was doing it at Buratamori. It's a really nice atmosphere. There is a toilet and a parking space for 4 or 5 cars at the entrance.

This is Nishinokoide, who was introduced in Buratamori. It's close to the parking lot. It's a very quiet bay. This is the place where envoys to Sui and Tang Dynasty used to pass. I was able to feel the history of Tsushima.

The signboard was so small that it was easy to pass by, but there were no people and it was a quaint place where you could feel the atmosphere of yesteryear. The parking lot can park about 2 cars in front of the toilet.
