Mt. Sekizen, located on Iwaki Island, is a famous spot for cherry blossoms and is approximately 370 meters above sea level.
In spring, 4,000 cherry trees decorate the mountains. It was a light rain on a weekday, so I was able to drive to the observation deck parking lot!
Although a bridge has been built on Iwagi Island, there are no special sights to see on a regular basis, and the only highlight by far is during the cherry blossom season.
The mountains of the island are dyed cherry blossom red, and from the observation deck you can see the islands of the Seto Inland Sea.

Mt. Sekizen is a triangular pyramid-shaped mountain that rises in the center of Iwaki Island and has an altitude of approximately 370 meters. In spring, more than 3,000 cherry trees decorate the mountain.
It all started when people started planting four or five cherry trees near the cherry blossom park near the north plaza, and island residents started planting cherry trees, and various organizations are still planting cherry trees today.
This activity has been carried out by volunteers for many years, and it is said that nearly 4,000 cherry trees of more than 10 types have now been planted. Mt. Sekizen is literally ``a mountain that accumulates good things'' and is an irreplaceable treasure of the island for the islanders.
There are many clean restrooms along the trail.

The light-up bamboo lanterns at the foot of the mountain are handmade by local junior high school students, and are maintained beautifully by local government officials and volunteers every year.

The row of cherry blossom trees is the result of a long period of tree planting. From young trees to old trees, you can feel the history. The view of the ribbon of cherry blossoms (also known as Hagoromo) from the top is great, but there are also nice views along the way. A collaboration of mountain azalea and cherry blossoms ◎
