Pros: a very pretty 100yr+ house Cons: 1. Upon check in, no letter in the letter box with our name(they wanted us to auto check in), tell them we can't find the paper, insist for us to search the box again, tell them we can't find itthen only he told us how to check in over the phone. 2.bring your own towel, no towel was provided and you have to pay to rent a towel from them 3. Not enough in house slippers and we had to walk barefoot on sunday 4. Bathroom autosensor light room 1 not functioning 5. Worst: super cheap quality shampoo that me and my husband had red and irritable scalp after we use it. Don't even want to comment how dry my hair went. 6. Futons were left in the room for guest to make the bed themselves😱 Everything is so self service here, won't come back again to this place. Dear staff and owner, you have to be more sincere in treating your guests, such a waste for this beauty vintage house..

Beautiful Edo style house. It is a 100 year old, and is packed with history. You can drop your bags off in the morning and go about your day without a worry which is great. The location was good if you are by bike which in Nara is a must. Unfortunately no bus passes close; therefore you will have to walk 15 min to reach the nearest train station.

Weird experience and not the good kind of weird: Service: We arrived on a friday evening and left on a sunday at 11 am, not ONCE did we see any kind of personale at the hotel, not at check-in, check out, or any kind of stop we did at the hotel during our stay. There are paid commodities like washing machine, towels and so on which maybe i would have used if I knew where/who I will leave my money with. Facilities: Sadly you can hear everything from everyroom like it was in our own room, If you have any kind of sound sensitity, it would be a rough stay. The microwave was dirty and the shower fan was covered with a thick layer of dirt, things that easily could have been fixed, if the had anyone working on site. Location: the location is very good and very near the deer park, the shopping streets and the train station. the place has potential but in my opinion it needs to tight up their bussiness model

I have no idea what to rate this place. Got here at 8pm on a Monday, no one at the front desk; you have to follow left behind instructions. The building is charming, historic, and majestic. it's 44 degrees outside, our heater does not work so our room is frigid cold atm. for authentic experience, there is only freezing cold water in the attached restroom. There is an electric blanket for the table that also does not turn on. Can't let anyone know because it's after-hours. Towels? None provided but you can purchase them for an additional price.

It's not the most convenient or with the best service / facilities within the very price range. It's a bit far from city center. Very quiet neighborhood though. The buildings are old and made of wood, along with the bed frames, and therefore sound travels. When I was in the main building, within mere minutes, I got more mosquito bites than in the garden. But overall, it was comfortable. Would I stay again? No as long as there are better options available.
