Inviting you to the rich taste of Kumamoto, Aji Sen Ramen

The popular ramen shop 'Aji Sen Ramen Honten' stands in the center of Kumamoto city. Here, the garlic-scented rich soup and exquisite combination of ingredients will lead you into the world of Kumamoto's taste.

Loved by the locals, a fragrant flavor

The specialty of Aji Sen Ramen is the aromatic fried garlic chili oil generously poured on the ramen. Although it lacks the mellowness of Kumamoto-style lard oil ramen, the punch of garlic and the rich salty taste are in exquisite balance. The umami of the pork bone soup is also evident, and the saltiness deepens as you progress through the soup.

The flavor of the ingredients is also exquisite

The noodles are slender, typical of Kumamoto, with a chewy texture. The chashu looks tender but surprisingly has a firm texture. The set menu's half-fried rice (small portion) has a fluffy texture and simple seasoning, making it an excellent match with the ramen. Adding side dishes such as fried chicken and gyoza would make for an even more satisfying meal.

Casual and welcoming atmosphere

The interior has a casual atmosphere, and the touch panel ordering system is also distinctive. The thoughtful service, such as offering paper aprons to customers, is also appreciated. There are also around 10 parking spaces around the store, making it convenient to visit by car.

Aji Sen Ramen is a renowned shop where you can savor the richly aromatic bowl, top-quality ingredients, and a comfortable space, all allowing you to enjoy the taste of Kumamoto. Why not stop by in between sightseeing and indulge in a satisfying and voluminous flavor?

This noodle restaurant was one of the popular ones worldwide. It could be found after watching the trees near the government building. The yard in front of the shop allowed short time parking. There were two kinds of sitting arrangements: western style with chairs and Japanese style on tatami. The food was the same as the other shops overseas. Quality was unquestionable.

Good old Ajisen ramen did not disappointment. The hearty broth pairs well with the al dente ramen. The karaage was well seasoned, and the fried rice packed a salty but umami punch.

It was not packed when we dined here. The service was very good. Their old style ramen is very rich and creamy. Recommended when in Kumamoto.

Large store that serves a variety of ramen. Way better than the Ajisen that you can find overseas.
