Heading from Kushimoto towards Oshima, there stands a row of over 40 rock pillars, measuring approximately 850 meters in length, rising sharply from the sea.

They earned this name due to their regular arrangement, which resembles the pillars of a bridge.

This unusual formation was carved by the sea's erosion, leaving only the hard parts of the rock behind, making it appear as though only the bridge’s pillars remain standing. There is also a legend that, long ago, Kōbō Daishi and a demon made a bet to build a bridge in one night, and that is how these pillars came to be.
