The divine messenger of Ishigami Shrine, the Chicken  
Chickens are already mentioned in the "Nihon Shoki" and "Kojiki," revered as sacred birds that announce the dawn and considered as messengers of the gods.
The "Jingu" mentioned in the "Nihon Shoki" refers only to Ise Jingu and Ishikami Jingu, and according to its descriptions, these are considered the oldest established shrines in Japan.
