Innoshima

Innoshima (Innosima) is an island in the Seto Inland Sea belonging to Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is known as a major transit point on the Shimanami Kaido. Historically, it has been inhabited since ancient times and was renowned as a base for the Innoshima naval forces. During the Sengoku period, the Murakami Suigun controlled maritime traffic from this island.
